Couple Finds Eastgate Village is the Perfect In-Town Weekend Getaway!

Another owner profile tells the story of a couple that chose Eastgate Village as the perfect weekend getaway location.

Tom and Amanda write:

I first learned about Eastgate Village from a local hospital, where I am a doctor. The idea to live in the city just fell into my lap. I had wondered about the idea of buying in Chicago, but I hadn’t looked into it. Through the hospital, I got the first choice of homes, so I said, “Sure, why not?” When I looked into it a bit further and brought my wife and family to view the community, that’s when we made the decision to buy.

My wife and I had never bought a new home before, so we didn’t have anything to compare it to. The process was pleasant overall and the staff was helpful. Kim was our first contact before switching to University Station. Then Natalie became our contact at that point. I had stressed because I didn’t think Natalie had any financial incentive to be helpful, but she always took the time to answer any of our questions and should be commended.

I grew up on the north side but the location of Eastgate Village is great, especially if the Olympics come to Chicago. It’s right by the hospital parking lot and right across from McCormick Place. The location is convenient to Michigan Avenue and if I don’t want to drive, there is a bus that will take me there directly.

Texas Transplant Finds Eastgate Village a Great Place to Live

Kenneth writes:

I am a multi-unit director for a restaurant company and I closed on my new townhome at Eastgate Village this past summer. Originally from El Paso, Texas,  I have lived in Schaumburg for the past two years. I first learned of Eastgate Village from my Coldwell Banker realtor. I was looking for a townhome or condo, somewhere in Chicago relatively close to downtown and had heard that the South Loop was a good area.

I chose Eastgate Village because I really liked the floor plans and thought the model homes were nicely done. I selected the McCormick floor plan and thought that the price was right — you got a lot of house for your money, it’s in close proximity to the South Loop and McCormick Place, and because I like to jog and run by the lake, it’s the perfect location.

The overall home buying process went very well. It was easy and the sales staff was great. Natalie was my salesperson and she did a fantastic job and was very responsive. The management company has done a great job also.

The community itself is building its character. It’s cool for me because I get to be on the ground floor. I plan on getting involved in the homeowners association. It’s great to be in a new community from the beginning.

I have also met several new and future residents — a lot of young professionals like doctors and attorneys. It’s a very diverse mix, which will make living at Eastgate Village an exciting and interesting experience.

I also like the floor plan’s layout and being able to pick out my home’s features — granite, counters, appliances, etc. My new home is custom made to fit my needs. And with a great location, it’s easy to use the CTA to go to the airports or to take the bus to get to the Mag Mile.

South Loop Couple Finds More Space, Great Location

We’ve been busy interviewing new buyers of our Eastgate Village residences. Here’s the story of one of our happy new couples, Tom (who is in the catering service for automotive auctions) and Amanda (a teacher at a Hyde Park charter school run by the University of Chicago).

The couple first learned of Eastgate Village from their son, who is a commercial real estate broker. They chose to move because they liked the location and needed more space. They selected the two-bedroom Cullerton model and got to the rooftop room upgrade. They bought in the Spring of 2008 and are expecting to close this January. Eastgate Village will be their primary residence.

They currently live in the South Loop, so they’re already familiar with the area. In fact, Tom likes it so much that he “reverse commutes” to the suburbs to work!

Tom felt the overall buying process went very smoothly. This was their first time buying a new construction home, so they weren’t familiar with the process and found our staff very helpful. He also said he is quite satisfied with Eastgate Village and expects that it will become a good neighborhood as it will experience the outgrowth of the South Loop.
